Stance & Differentiation
Attitude
For us, Executive Career Advisory means taking responsibility for the quality of decisions.
In professional transition situations at the leadership level, it's rarely about a lack of skills or options. It's about positioning, timing, consequences, and sustainability.
Our stance is deliberate:
- Clarity before activism
- Classification before optimization
- Judgment before speed
Not every situation requires a next step. Some require a conscious outside perspective first.
Role
We work as sparring partners on equal terms. Not as a coach, not as a motivator, and not as a consultant with a toolbox of methods.
Our role is to
- To realistically assess options
- Making risks visible
- To formulate a dissenting opinion when necessary.
- Prepare decisions in a sustainable way
This is not about agreement, but about substance.
Differentiation from classic career coaching
Career coaching is an established and useful format – for certain issues.
My approach is deliberately different.
I do not work with:
- Personality models
- Development plans
- Target images or coaching methods
Executive Career Advisory is not development support, but decision support.
Not every career question is a question of development. Many are questions of decision.
Differentiation from executive search and placement
Viktor Felber Management Consulting does not offer placement services.
There are:
- no preferential treatment in search mandates
- however, access to client projects
Executive Career Advisory and Executive Search are strictly separated both organizationally and in terms of content. This separation is a conscious choice and a prerequisite for independence, confidentiality, and credibility.
Limitation as a quality principle
We deliberately work with a limited number of clients at the same time.
Not out of exclusivity, but out of conviction: Quality requires attention, time and personal commitment.
Executive Career Advisory is not a scalable model – and that is precisely where our strength lies.
Decision-making proximity instead of methodology training
Our work begins where decisions have already been made or are imminent. We support leaders not with abstract models, but in real, often uncomfortable conversations – with the aim of combining clarity, fairness, and accountability.
